Eileen Hendriksen is an advanced standing MSW candidate at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College (CUNY) specializing in Community Organizing, Planning, & Development and Aging and was awarded a scholarship from the Hugh Downs endowment for students specializing in gerontology. Eileen has professional and field experience working with older adults, those affected by Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias and their caregivers, adults with developmental disabilities, and survivors of domestic violence. Eileen recently graduated from Dominican College of Blauvelt with her BSW where she was inducted into Alpha Chi, Phi Alpha, and Pi Gamma Mu Honor Societies. Eileen has facilitated several watercolor painting workshops for individuals with dementia in collaboration with her local office of The Alzheimer’s Association. After obtaining her MSW, Eileen is interested in pursuing a career where she can combine her interests in art, aging, and community organizing.
