Nancy Giunta, PhD, MSW
Nancy Giunta is an Associate Professor at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, and serves as the Director* of Silberman Aging, a Hartford Center of Excellence in Diverse Aging. Dr. Giunta, a John A. Hartford Faculty Scholar (2009-2011), has over twenty years of experience in the field of aging, most recently with facilitating inter-organizational partnerships and implementing innovative interventions to improve older adult service systems. She represents Hunter College as the lead program evaluator for SAGECare, a national initiative that promotes culturally competent services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) older adults. She was co-editor of a special issue of the Journal of Gerontological Social Work on LGBT Aging, and co-editor of The Collective Spirit of Aging Across Cultures, published by Springer Science + Business Media. Dr. Giunta is a Faculty Associate at the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College and a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and the New York Academy of Medicine.
